i want to run emulators on vista to run roms and the problem is, save states arent working cause lets face it, sonic 1 cannot be beaten without save states. i found this nice revamped custom rom o0f sonic 1 and i want to play it but i am not going to play it without save states. do you suppose there are any vista compatible roms?

I've got Vista & all of my roms work fine & it says nothing about Vista compatible stuffs.
Ether your computer sucks, you've got a bad emulator, or rom, or there's something wrong.
Hes right actually, Vista needs patch programs for EVERYTHING. From Wi-Fi things ( The nintendo USB one) to printers and even GH3 and most games except halo 2, I would just wait one more year (It aint that long, trust me) and go check out the Emu community then. Or. Get XP.
i do not have a usb cuntroller so i should not have bothered asking how i can get emus to work. also woo its just like a friday except its wednesday! im gonna do all the fun stuff in my room till i pass out
dude, dump vista and go back to xp for another year, like ProBo said, almost nothing is compatible with vista

you can go back to XP, but you need to go to altex or your local pro-comp shop to get it done. XP costs about 120$ which is good considering all the stuff you can use with it. be sure to check that out. there may be hope for you yet. XD

If you bought a disc & put Vista over your XP then I can see why it's messing up.
I have never seen a computer work right if you put a higher version over an old one.
i got vista brand new on my super laptop so thats not the problem
right click on the shortcut for the program choose run as admin itll let you after that
thank you so much! i can now do quick save and load states on my emulator and it saves in the same folder as the genesis emulator.

have you tried running the emulator in XP compatability mode? I've had a handful of programs that won't run unless they're I use it, but work fine when I do, although I haven't used any console emulators in vista.
